Onsite Work Expectations:

Onsite work is an essential function of this position, and you are required to be onsite according to the schedule set by your management.

The primary focus of this and any people leader role is managing a team to be as successful as possible, meeting performance expectations and driving progress every day in our work. This team oversees the health and welfare benefits programs offered to employees, retirees and dependents of the Federal Reserve System. In doing that, the team manages many relationships and service performance of outsourced administrators and insurance providers. Continuous research of best practices, performingbenchmarking analysis and comparisons, and evaluating emerging trends are key to effectively managing the programs.  

You will be working in Newark, NJ for a division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (Office of Employee Benefits) as part of the health & welfare team’s one of two Benefits Plan Managers overseeing multiple programs, vendors and communicating with stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System.  

You’ll manage a team working across the Federal Reserve System, on multiple programs to research best practices, benchmark programs, evaluate trends, recommend and continuously evaluate the Federal Reserve’s benefits program. You will report to the AVP, Health & Welfare Benefits.  

We’re looking for:  

  • An experienced and confident people leader, ideally having managed operational teams through change.  

  • Experience driving an operational team toward streamlined processes, efficiency gains, measuring and improving outcomes and bringing procedural rigor through leadership to a team.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Serves as coach and support to those accountable for vendor management responsibilities for System-wide benefits programs. 

  • Ensures self and team maintain current knowledge of and relevant certifications in legal, regulatory, plan compliance and changes for System benefits. 

  • Uses data to regularly recommend benefit plan strategies, evaluation of plan design changes, cost and participant impact. 

  • Lead continuous improvement in process and identify policy enhancements and opportunities to offer appropriate benefits backage to the Federal Reserve System. 

  • Develop and lead presentations for oversight committees and Reserve Bank and Board of Governors stakeholders. 

  • Lead high-visibility projects with measurable outcomes. 

Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent experience  

Experience: Eight+ years of experience preferred, at least three managing a team
