Job title: Wound Care RN - Long-term Care

Location: Fair View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - Mauston, WI

Schedule: Part-time 2, 24 hours per pay period

Weekend Requirement: No weekends

Holiday Requirement: No holidays

Position Summary:

The Long Term Care Wound Care Nurse position assists with the wound care program at Fair View. This is an important role that requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional healthcare.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Timely communication to physicians, families, etc. of significant changes in resident condition in regards to wounds
  • Complete all applicable resident wound assessments
  • Ownership of wound care program including weekly wound rounding, tracking and trending wounds, wound education to staff, and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist CNAs with answering call lights
  • Report any allegations of abuse, neglect or misappropriation to Director of Nursing and Administrator
  • Maintain accurate resident records with thorough and accurate charting
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Licensed Practical Nurse license
  • Registered Nursing license preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers is required
  • Comprehensive nursing skills and knowledge of equipment such as retinal scanners, EKG, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of triage.
  • Understanding of lab procedures and equipment.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with co-workers, patients, and supervisors is essential.
