General Information:

Job title: Hospital Registration

Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday - Friday, shifts range from 6am-11pm,

Weekend Rotation: Every 6th weekend, Sat/Sun shifts range 7am-630pm

Holiday Rotation: Minimum 1 holiday per year

Position Summary:

The Registration position greets patients and obtains and verifies patient demographics and insurance information.

Position Responsibilities:

• Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting in person or on the telephone.
• Register patients for their appointments by verifying all demographics, DOB, address, phone, contact information and checking eligibility on all insurances.
• Collecting all necessary paperwork and consents for treatment.
• Document cash drawer and process payments by collecting copays and assisting patients with basic billing questions.
• Place ID Bands for patients being admitted for surgery and inpatient stays, Keep a list of the bed board and taking care of discharges.
• Hospital staff will calculate a daily census of all clinics, hospital inpatient and nursing home listings.
• Assist with on the job training for new employees.
• Maintain reception area in neat orderly fashion at all times.
• Participate in medical office emergency routine, whenever required and summon triage when needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year or less of related work experience preferred.
• Experience working in the medical industry preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
