About UL Solutions’ Wireless Testing Technician Seasonal Role

Join UL’s industry-leading wireless testing labs for a hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, and customer-focused environment. You’ll work alongside experts in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), Radio Frequency (RF) testing, contributing to the evaluation of cutting-edge wireless devices.

UL Solutions labs are known for their innovative equipment design and rigorous quality standards. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in wireless technology testing while collaborating with a passionate team.

Seasonal Shifts & Schedules

SAR Testing (September– January)

  • Automated robot-assisted testing of wireless devices.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6 days/week 
    • 1st Shift: 6am–6pm
    • 2nd Shift: 6pm–6am

RF Testing (September– January)

  • Hands-on testing using state-of-the-art RF equipment across various technologies.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 5 days/week 
    • 1st Shift: 4:30am–4:30pm
    • 2nd Shift: 4:30pm–4:30am

 

*Hours vary during training periods and throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
  • Recording and explaining test results and complete test report for Engineering staff.
  • Examining customer samples and learning to operate basic tests for each case.
  • Following defined test plans and datasheets.
  • Communicating with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
  • Developing a working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old at time of application.
  • Indefinite right to work in the U.S. 
  • No prior experience required—comprehensive training provided.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Fremont, CA (relocation not provided).
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from Fremont office

What we offer:

  • Total Rewards:  We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The hourly rate for this position is $21 plus overtime and pay differential for 2nd shift.
