Duties
You will serve as a/an General Engineer and be responsible for developing, replacing and/or upgrading systems on surface assets, as well as for shore-based systems and aviation platforms. Serves as a technical expert in assessment of systems engineering and architecture of inter-related systems and components; these may include sensors, communications, and decision support systems, computer systems, software systems and networks infrastructure systems that support the breadth of USCG systems. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Collaborating in the development of the system architecture, defining and allocating requirements, evaluating design tradeoffs, balancing technical risk between systems, defining, and assessing interfaces, monitoring of verification and validation activities, as well as many other tasks. Developing, analyzing, and reviewing designs, specifications, and independent cost estimates for a variety of complex systems and components. Serving as a technical expert in assessment of systems engineering and architecture of inter-related systems and components. Assisting in preparing asset specific plans for all T&E events, gathers inputs from field sites, operational sponsors, or other stakeholder units. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Works to achieve and maintain Level II Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) Certification. Works to achieve and maintain Level III Systems Engineering Certification.

Qualifications and evaluation
