Job Description

Position Summary 

The Industrial Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position supports production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems while minimizing equipment downtime. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and production machinery. 

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. 

• Install, assemble, align, wire, and commission new machinery and equipment. 

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, motor starters, relays, contactors, sensors, limit switches, solenoids, transformers, and control panels. 

• Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, and industrial automation systems. 

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals. 

• Install and replace electrical components, conduit, wiring, disconnects, and control devices in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company standards. 

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, bearings, belts, chains, and power transmission equipment. 

• Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and megohm meters to diagnose equipment issues. 

• Perform equipment alignment, calibration, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments. 

• Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate documentation using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). 

• Respond to emergency equipment failures and participate in planned maintenance shutdowns. 

• Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. 

• Follow all OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies. 

Qualifications

Basic:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• 6+ years experience working as Industrial Equipment Technician in an industrial capacity.
• Must have or be able to obtain a UAW Journey Card.

Preferred:

• Completion of a 4 year apprentice program certified by the US Dept of Labor.

Hourly Compensation: The U.S. base hourly wage for this full-time position is $40.62r with an additional shift premium based on the assigned shift.
