GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs electronic assembly operations such as SMT soldering and repairs, through hole soldering and repairs, wire termination, cable harness assembly and cable harness installation into chassis and modules.

DUTIES

  • Assembles electrical and electronic components, wiring harnesses, and other electrical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Manufactures electronic/electrical circuitry, electronic components (CCA's), and wiring harnesses according to Drawings, Engineering Changes, Customer Specifications, and Process Instructions (P.I.).
  • For design/build and prototype efforts, capture as built information (ie. notes, sketches, pictures) for use in the development of technical data packages.
  • Procure the necessary tools, parts, and consumables for all assembly application to avoid loss or delay of production time.
  • Checks stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners, for the particular run.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • Cable harness build experience both crimp and solder.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret oral and written instructions, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, engineering instructions and associated documentation pertaining to the electrical manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain IPC-620 and J-STD certifications.
  • General Computer skills.
  • Must be able to read and write English.

  • Required to use standard hand tools associated within the electronics industry.
  • May be required to hand solder components and fabricate cable assemblies.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Must have hand dexterity to handle tools and measuring devices
  • Normally works in a shop setting with controlled temperature.
  • Attention to detail
