We are looking for a skilled, driven Electrical Technician II to join our Support Office team at Balls Food Stores. In this role, you'll serve as a key technical partner across all store locations-including Hen House, Price Chopper, SunFresh, and Payless-ensuring electrical systems, infrastructure, and equipment are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably to support daily store operations.

This role is essential to maintaining safe and consistent store performance-supporting lighting, panels, wiring, and critical electrical systems that keep stores operational and compliant. Your work will directly impact safety, uptime, and overall store functionality across multiple locations.

This is a critical, hands-on role for a technician who excels at diagnosing issues, delivering high-quality repairs, and keeping systems running reliably in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Maintenance & System Reliability: Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and store equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Electrical Service Execution & CMMS Utilization: Respond to internal service requests through the CMMS and perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, wiring, lighting, panels, and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve electrical issues by inspecting, testing, and diagnosing systems across all operational areas of the store, including food preparation areas and building systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Perform all work in accordance with OSHA and applicable electrical codes (NEC), ensuring safe practices while working with energized systems, tools, and equipment.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to receive, prioritize, update, and complete electrical repair work orders, ensuring accurate and timely documentation
  • Accurately document work performed in the CMMS, including notes, parts used, labor time, and status updates
  • Respond to internal store service requests and travel from the Support Office to store locations to assess and complete electrical repairs
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues to minimize operational disruption
  • Inspect, operate, and test electrical systems located in floor areas, back rooms, mechanical spaces, and rooftops
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including wiring, lighting, panels, circuits, and controls
  • Install, repair, or replace electrical components such as breakers, switches, outlets, fixtures, and control systems
  • Monitor system performance and electrical loads to identify and resolve potential issues
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure and store equipment
  • Operate lifts, ladders, and material handling equipment as needed
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain accurate service logs and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with store teammates, leadership, and vendors
  • Maintain a professional, service-oriented presence in store environments
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and hand jacks as needed to access and complete maintenance and repairs in various equipment locations
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned work
  • Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and basic computer-based documentation
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with store teammates, leadership, and vendors regarding service needs and repairs
  • Provide a professional, approachable, and service-oriented presence while working in store environments

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support additional maintenance or facility-related needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: Electrical maintenance experience, apprenticeship experience, trade school training, or a combination thereof
    Preferred:
    3+ years of electrical maintenance and facilities maintenance experience
    Required:
    Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting (commercial preferred)
    Required:
    Experience using a CMMS or work order management system, or the ability to learn and effectively utilize such systems
    Required:
    High school diploma or GED
    Required:
    Valid driver's license
    Highly Preferred:
    Trade school or technical certification in electrical systems
