As a Risk Consulting – Regulatory Compliance Intern at RSM, you will work on projects related to the world’s largest financial services institutions and receive hands-on experience with direct access to business owners and executive management. Working on numerous team engagements per year, you will be involved in a variety of challenging assignments with guidance from experienced consultants - and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment when you are done.
RSM's Regulatory Compliance Consulting group provides value added consulting services to clientele and you will be exposed to a wide variety of clients within the financial services industry. Examples of projects include risk and control projects across all three lines, global risk and control projects, transformations, internal audits in anti-money laundering (AML) and consumer compliance and regulatory validations projects, all intended to provide our clients with timely information to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Examples of the candidate's responsibilities include:
Work individually and/or as part of a team to execute various projects related to Compliance, Risk and Controls, Financial Crime, Consumer Compliance testing activities for financial institutions of all sizes and complexities.
Identify areas of non-compliance with various financial laws and regulations and provide actionable recommendations.
Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively across multiple external and internal initiatives to achieve stated goals and timelines.
Provide quality and accurate work products.
Develop technical skillsets across various regulatory, compliance and financial crime related topics
Identify areas to improve and bring efficiency to testing techniques.
Contribute to strong client relationships through positive client support and sound expertise.
Use straightforward communication when providing testing results to internal and external parties.
Seek and embrace opportunities to provide and receive actionable feedback.
Basic Qualifications:
90 credit hours completed
Working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from accredited university
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or related business or technical field of study from accredited university
Must be able to travel locally and nationally 40% of the time - including overnight travel
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills, including MS Office
Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
Ability to work as an effective member of a team
Must possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
