Who are we looking for?
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Resident Project Representative whose experience is focused on water/wastewater facilities construction. As an RPR, you will represent GHD as the on-site primary liaison between the construction manager, Owner and the contractor throughout construction of the project. You will be responsible for performing field verification of conformance with contract documents for large water/wastewater facilities projects managed from our Bowie, MD office.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Provide on-site observation of construction activities including reviewing products against approved submittals for civil, piping, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls associated with water/wastewater facilities and/or pumping stations
- Administer weekly onsite coordination meetings with the Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate and oversee third-party materials testing, including but not limited to soils and concrete.
- Work with operations staff to coordinate shutdowns and other activities that affect daily plant operations.
- Maintain an on-site set of redline drawings documenting final installed materials/equipment along with any project deviations
- Assist with contract closeout documentation
- Assist in construction schedule reviews
- Acquire and maintain all certificates, submittals, testing reports, operations and maintenance manuals, and other related construction correspondence
- Utilize a web based document management system for all construction documentation including submittals, RFIs, change management, daily field reports, inspections, and any other contract documentation
What you will bring to the team:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction inspection and/or construction management, with a focus on facilities work
- Experience with municipal water and/or wastewater construction projects and with the current and emerging plant technologies
- Ability to review and interpret plans and specifications
- Experience in interpreting critical path construction schedules with 500+ activities
- Familiarity with web based construction management software such as Procore
- Knowledge of permits requirements to execute projects including building, grading, soil and erosion control, stormwater management, discharge, and dewatering
- Experience working with multiple subcontractors and demonstrated effective communication with clients, owners and contractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, hardworking and able to work under minimum supervision

- Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
- Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
Salary range: $41.00 - $68.00 based on experience and location
