Architectural Designer

GHD’s Design & Delivery Organization (DDO) is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our Alaska architectural delivery team. This role combines technical knowledge and project delivery responsibilities supporting architectural projects while advancing DDO standards, delivery excellence, and employee development. 

This position will be based in GHD’s Anchorage office and will partner closely with regional teams, project managers, and other business groups across the West Region.

Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design: Produce multiple architectural concepts and prototypes to design a building or construction; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of architectural solutions.
• Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Analyze parts of the bid solicitation project requirements, and gather and assess information related to the feasibility of these requirements for the organization.
• Building Surveys: Undertake building and technical surveys to determine the building condition and identify defects and associated risks.
• Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
• Architectrual Drawings: Create architectural drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of architectural solutions.
• Architectural Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed architectural solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
• Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture

Experience: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Architectural Design

Salary Range $80,000-$133,000 basked on experience
