Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader (Seasonal). This position is a working leader assigned responsibility for building and utility maintenance work. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty is March-September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding.
Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: As a working leader performs and leads work in the following trades: Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Masonry, Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment Plant Operations, Roofing, or Electrical. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of facilities including historic structures and resources. Produce finished products with precise fits, accurate dimensions, and acceptable appearance. Lay out plumbing, carpentry and Masonry projects. Works from complex instructions, blueprints, sketches and building codes.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications and evaluation

Temporary Appointment: This is a temporary seasonal appointment not to exceed 1039 hours. The appointment is expected to end upon completion of the season's work. Non-Competitive Rehire Eligibility: Non-Competitive Rehire Eligibility: As a temporary seasonal employee, you can be rehired in future seasons without reapplying, as long as you do not exceed 1,039 hours anywhere in the Department of Interior during your service year.
