Summary
Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the federal government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the federal government.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position. Perform extensive quantitative and qualitative analyses of an IRS program, function, operation or management systems and procedures to assess whether the entity is achieving economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the employment of available resources and or is in compliance with established laws, policies and procedures. Use applicable standards, theories, techniques, methods and practices of accounting, and program management and internal controls in assessing IRS and TIGTA operations. Develop evaluation/inspection plans, making recommendations for objectives, approaches, or tests, based on experience or research. Modify the evaluation/inspection plan by changing areas of emphasis or develops new approaches as determined by analysis of findings. Conduct risk assessments and applies the information to each assignment. Develop and conduct special in-depth analysis of activities within general or high-risk IRS programs.

Qualifications and evaluation
You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this vacancy announcement. If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three quality level categories, A (highest quality category) highly proficient with an overall comprehensive level of knowledge, skills, and abilities of the job, B (middle quality category) has a solid and comprehensive understanding. Can perform the required tasks efficiently and is proficient in applying the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position, or C (minimally qualified category) an overall basic level of knowledge, skills and abilities of the job. Depending on your responses to the online questions, regarding your experience, education, and training related to this position, your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application. Veterans' preference is applied after applicants are assessed. Preference-eligibles will be listed at the top of their assigned category and considered before non-preference-eligibles in that category. Qualified preference-eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10% or more will be listed at the top of the highest category. Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED): - All selectees must sign a Pathways Participant Agreement. - Subject to a one year trial period is required (unless already completed). Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
