Summary
The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Contract Specialist. This Job Opportunity Announcement (JOA) may be used to fill other Contract Specialist, GS -1102- 13 positions within the FRTIB in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Duties
Serve as the Agency's subject matter expert on federal acquisition regulations, policies, and contracting best practices. Lead all phases of complex procurements, including negotiating, cost and price analysis, award, and post-award administration. Advise senior leadership on complex contracting issues with agency-wide impact and high visibility. Resolve complex procurement problems by interpreting regulations, case law, and business risk. Partner with program, legal, and finance teams to develop sound negotiation strategies and acquisition approaches.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required. All qualification requirements must be met by 08/31/2026. One-year probationary period may be required. Selective Service. Background Suitability Investigation. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation and the granting of a federal suitability or security clearance. Education
