WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide area oversight and leadership for the planning and material management operations for the Columbus Pilot Plant (CPP) and Process Research Center
- Commit to plant loading, production output and schedule adherence goals.
- Accountable to safety, quality and regulatory compliance of material preparation and production operations in the PRC.
- Lead and manage the detailed schedule of production activities and communicate with stakeholders: trial schedules with product developers, maintenance schedule with engineering function and sampling and environmental monitoring with plant QA. Lead to pre-run meetings and align expectations and execution plan for product research trials. Consolidate and prioritize both production and non-production activities. Develop a master schedule and allocate resources for the execution of production and non-production activities.
- Lead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the shift/ line of accountability. Coach and direct individuals in delivering performance required for QA for themselves, their team and department. Prepare and actively participate in internal and external Quality audits.
- Lead the internal labelling efforts and provide external manufacturing material and logistics support for the supply and logistics of materials for research prototype production
- Develop plans and execute efforts required to train and develop employees to improve overall manufacturing capability to deliver performance results. Create a learning environment and support individuals learning and development plans.
- Coach and direct individuals and teams to meet performance goals and objectives. Directly supervises team and leads staffing activities. Model the organization’s values and drive a culture of engagement throughout the organization by providing effective leadership, direction, development, and support of the team.
- Review and ensure completeness of records of batch manufacturing documents. Development of operating procedures operation and maintenance of areas and process equipment systems to support continous improvement initiatives.
- Collect data, initiate ideas, improvements, assess and synthesize information and generate innovative solutions in work situations. Execute small to medium-scale engineering projects from capital planning to requisition of capital expenditure (RCE) up to installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Lead efforts required to deliver EHS performance for the shift/ line of accountability. Prepare and actively participate in internal EHS audits and incident/accident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Establish a communications framework that assures timely and relevant transfer of information to and from all levels and functional areas of the organization. Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures. Communicate production concerns to the differen stakeholders.
- Manage financial items and budgetary responsibilities; share accountability for line budgetary decisions with direct manager. Track, trend, and continuously improve budgetary performance for overtime (OT), direct expenses, material usage. (Note: This list is not all inclusive). Timely allocations of expenses to projects and operations accounts.
- Own, maintain and evelve production systems related to request intake, material management, schedulling and production execution.
- Understand and effectively use the rewards and recognition programs. Championing positive employee relations by maintaining a high-profile presence on the floor, direct engagement with employees, regular open communications and encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with others; establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate the accomplishment of goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, food technology, or engineering
- 8+ years of experience in nutritional/ food/ pharmaceutical process engineering or food science, or plant management role.
- 2+ years for demonstrated supervisory experience or equivalent.
- Significant knowledge of food and nutrition science and technology principles in a regulatory controlled environment. Has knowledge of applicable facility and system requirements in EHS, Quality and Engineering specifically to food and dairy industry.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and excellent people skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships and networks with cultural and technically diverse groups.
- Excellent organizational skills.

The base pay for this position is
