The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Flight Sciences team is seeking a Senior Acoustical Engineer (Level 5) to support the Noise, Vibration & Emissions team in community noise certification activities at the North Charleston, SC site. The ideal candidate will hold an active FAA Certificate Letter of Authority that includes Large and Jet Airplanes and will have demonstrated experience with 14 CFR Part 36, including compliance demonstration and compliance findings.

This position will support certification work across Boeing commercial airplane programs, including 737, 777, and 787 platforms. The successful candidate will be trained toward appointment as an Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) within the Boeing Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) structure and will play a key role in supporting acoustics-related certification activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and support change classifications for acoustics-related certification impacts
• Provide technical input to Certification Plans
• Review and assess Certification Plans for compliance completeness and accuracy
• Prepare and submit Requests for Conformity (RFC)
• Support planning and execution of compliance testing
• Evaluate test data and documentation to support findings of compliance
• Complete FAA compliance documentation, including FAA Form 8100-9
• Collaborate with Certification Plan Owners, Design Teams, other E-UMs, Boeing Regulatory Administration, and external regulatory authorities as needed
• Support community noise certification activities across multiple commercial airplane programs

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry. 
• 14+ years of aerospace engineering experience
• 10+ years of experience in Noise and Vibration technical competencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 36
• Active or current FAA Consultant DER with Technical Discipline in Acoustical Engineering
• Certificate Letter of Authority including Large and Jet Airplanes
• Experience with Boeing commercial airplane programs or similar large transport aircraft programs
• Familiarity with FAA certification processes and documentation
• Prior experience with acoustics-related testing, certification planning, or regulatory submissions
• Understanding of Boeing ODA processes or similar delegated authority systems
• Experience with showing compliance and making findings of compliance
• Experience supporting aircraft certification or regulatory compliance activities

Summary Pay range: $164,900 - $223,100
