The Opportunity

This position is a remote opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. As a Ā Manager Market Access Strategy, you will be strategic, demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership, thrive in complexity and have a problem-solving mindset backed by strong analytical skills.Ā  This role will lead the development and execution of payer marketing strategies aimed at securing, maintaining, and optimizing product access.

This is a Remote based opportunity with frequent travel to Alameda, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement payer marketing strategies to expand reimbursement and support new product launches
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payer Account Management, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Regulatory, to ensure alignment and integration of payer strategies.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify payer needs, trends, and opportunities.
  • Create and deliver compelling value propositions, messaging, and marketing materials tailored to payer audiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of payer marketing initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Stay informed about healthcare policies, reimbursement trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and financial planning processes.
  • Competition and Positioning: Thoroughly understand competitive offerings and provide teams with appropriate positioning and tools to differentiate product(s) versus the competition in a profitable manner that adds value to the customer.
  • External Communication: Interface with consultants, marketing research firms, ad agencies, other vendors, and customers to effectively manage and grow business profitably, while maintaining a customer focus woven throughout all activities.
  • Utilize market research, customer input, and other means to ensure profitable reimbursement and market access goals are achieved.
  • The Manager is responsible for achievement of the goals and objectives of the Market Access organization.
  • Must ensure compliance with the Quality System, and all Ethics/Compliance guidelines.

Experience You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, MBA preferred, with 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of payer and reimbursement market dynamics, including commercialization, pricing and reimbursement
  • Proven ability to manage vendors and agencies to deliver successful marketing campaigns
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into strategy
  • Previous experience in marketing or managed care marketing
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive projects independently, establish budgets, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve results
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines under business constraints
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to craft and deliver compelling narratives
  • Proven success in working collaboratively across the business to design and execute solutions to complex challenges preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
