This role sits within Wealth Management’s Annuity and Insurance Platform team, which supports the technology, platforms, and processes used by Financial Advisors and clients across the annuity and insurance business. The team is responsible for leading strategic initiatives, platform enhancements, and application reengineering efforts designed to improve the Financial Advisor and client experience, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency. The Product Owner will support Agile squads and partner closely with stakeholders across Wealth Management, including Product, Sales, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and third-party partners, to manage strategic initiatives throughout the program development lifecycle.
The Product Owner will work closely with business and technology partners to define business requirements, prioritize the product backlog, coordinate development and testing activities, manage risks and dependencies, and support the implementation of new capabilities from initial concept through production rollout.
Key responsibilities include identifying opportunities to digitize and automate manual processes, enhance new business order entry, suitability, supervisory review, policy servicing, and post-issue workflows. The Product Owner will also assess existing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement, while proactively identifying, tracking, and escalating risks, issues, and dependencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant finance industry experience
- Knowledge of annuity and life insurance products, workflows and industry practices.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology in Product Owner or similar role
- Organized and attention to detail focused
- Problem solving skills with the ability to identify and escalate risks
- Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Firm understanding of the importance of accuracy in quality of work/downstream impacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with senior management
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills and ability to think and act like an owner
- Efficient time management skills / ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks that team is involved with
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
