The Corporate Derivatives Trading desk within the Institutional Equity Division (IED) is responsible for structuring, pricing, trading, and risk-managing a broad range of derivative solutions for corporate and high net worth clients. The team’s product coverage spans vanilla equity options, bespoke and exotic derivative structures, and margin lending transactions. While many transactions are linked to single-stock underlyings, the complexity of the associated risks requires a deep understanding of a diverse set of financial instruments, markets, and risk factors.

The desk is seeking to hire a Senior Associate or Vice President to focus on the below responsibilities.

  • Structuring and pricing derivative transactions tailored to the needs of corporate and wealth management clients.
  • Managing and hedging the desk’s trading books on a daily basis, working closely with traders across desks as well as external brokers and counterparties.
  • Conducting fundamental and market-driven analysis of equities and broader market conditions to assess risk and support trading decisions.
  • Partnering with colleagues across Global Capital Markets and the broader IED derivatives platform to develop client solutions and generate new business opportunities.
  • Driving strategic technology and infrastructure initiatives in collaboration with desk strategists and technology teams to enhance trading, risk management, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications.

  • A minimum of three years of experience in equity derivatives trading.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to understand, value, and manage complex derivative payoffs and risk exposures.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn quickly, assume increasing responsibility, and contribute across multiple aspects of the business.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
