General Manager - Murphy, NC

General Manager - Manufactured Housing Sales & Development Murphy, North Carolina
This is not a typical manufactured housing sales position. We are looking for an experienced manufactured housing professional to lead one of the most unique retail operations in Western North Carolina. This is a management position with responsibility for the overall success and profitability of our Murphy location.
Our Murphy operation serves two distinct markets:

• A growing residential community featuring new homes available for immediate occupancy.
• Traditional manufactured home sales for customers building on privately owned land throughout Western North Carolina and North Georgia.

Success in this role requires much more than selling homes. We're looking for someone who understands every aspect of placing manufactured homes in the mountains-from evaluating home sites to identifying challenges before they become costly problems.
What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the Murphy location.
• Drive sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
• Guide customers through the purchase of new homes within our residential development.
• Sell manufactured homes to customers placing homes on private property throughout the region.
• Conduct site inspections and evaluate access, terrain, grading, utilities, foundations, and delivery logistics.
• Identify potential installation challenges and accurately communicate additional costs before work begins.
• Coordinate with contractors, installers, utility providers, and local officials to ensure successful home placements.
• Build relationships with local builders, excavators, Realtors, lenders, and community partners.
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience from the first meeting through move-in.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone with significant manufactured housing experience, preferably in the mountain regions of North Carolina, Georgia, or Eastern Tennessee. Ideal candidates may have experience as a:

• Manufactured Housing General Manager
• Retail Center Manager
• Operations Manager
• Installation or Set Crew Manager
• Licensed General Contractor
• Construction or Project Manager with manufactured housing experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive knowledge of manufactured home delivery and installation.
• Experience conducting site inspections and identifying placement challenges.
• A solid understanding of grading, foundations, utility connections, permitting, and transportation logistics.
• Strong leadership, sales, and customer service skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
• A hands-on management style with the ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions.
