Duties

This is being announced at multiple grade levels; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-05, and GS-06 grade levels. At the full performance, GS-07, the incumbent will: Serves as a fully trained member of a firefighting crew engaged in a full range of emergency services response. Operates several types of portable and fixed equipment to include deluge guns, nozzles, fans, axes, hoses, generators, atmospheric monitoring meters and several pieces of related equipment. Drives and operates a full range of firefighting equipment to include structural 1500 gallon per minute fire engines, 3000 gallon water tender/engine, 3000 gallon aircraft rescue firefighting truck and several other specialized vehicles. Participates in an extensive on-going training program designed and modified routinely to prepare firefighter personnel for all areas of emergency response. Responds on and off site to incidents and emergencies involving injury and illnesses, and frequently encounters situations that are life threatening.
