Biological Science Technician (Seasonal)

Summary

You will serve as a Biological Science Technician (Seasonal) GS-0404-05 working in Awendaw, South Carolina, for the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. This is a Temporary Not to Exceed 1039 hours position.

Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Participates in multifaceted wildlife, fish and avian population studies. Collects avian morphometric data and biological scientific samples Identifies and collects plant species for studies. Assists in collecting data on hatchery populations, Assists with maintenance repairs of tools and equipment.

Requirements

Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications and evaluation

You will be assessed in the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics): Knowledge of the Wildlife biological sciences. Knowledge of the Avian biological sciences. Ability to capture and handle fish. Knowledge of the Habitat/Plants Biological Sciences. Knowledge of invasive species mitigation processes.
