Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for a System Administrator position that will work on our USPS contract. This position provides technical expertise in the design and development of IT operation environments.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Administer, install, and troubleshoot issues
• Perform system maintenance tasks such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance.
• Schedule, install and test system software upgrades and patches
• Configure software and resolve technical problems
• Monitor and maintain software licensing, certificate upgrades, and maintenance agreements.
• Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
• Manage SSL certificates

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience, Master's degree with 6+ years experience or high school diploma/GED with 12+ years experience.
• U.S Citizenship or Green Card Holder
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust secruity clearance
• Must have resided in the U.S. the past five years with no more than six months outside travel during this time period.
• 7+ years of experience serving as a system administrator for J2EE/Oracle Application Express for a medium-to-complex applications development project
• Working knowledge of Java coding using J2EE is preferred – 2+ years
• 5 year’s Oracle Map Viewer experience, with experience customizing client system options; includes but is not limited to Oracle Fusion Middleware and requires seamless integration with Oracle database and middleware technologies
• Minimum 5 year’s expertise in Tomcat, Weblogic, Linux Server support, scripting, and AI Tools
• Develop and maintain system documentation including installation, maintenance, and operating procedures
• Capability to set up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
• Knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD, Ansible automation , GITHUB experience for source control – 2 years
• Capability to test Oracle Scan Listener changes - 2+ years of experience
• Administer Splunk, ColdFusion, Windows & Linux - 5+ years
• Ability to use application monitoring using AppDynamics preferred
• Experience troubleshooting deployments, configuring access permissions , and managing backups and recovery would also be helpful

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
