We are looking to fill a position as a Scientist II working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on short-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in West Point, PA. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer sponsorship.

Summary

DSCS (Development Sciences and Clinical Supply) DDT (DSCS Digital Technologies) of one of our clients in West Point, Pennsylvania is seeking a contractor with strong VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) scripting expertise to support their High Throughput Analytics (HTA) group within Vaccines Analytical Research and Development (VARD). This role sits within the DDT organization and serves as a technical bridge between DDT and HTA, helping to build, maintain, and enhance the Excel-based tools that power HTA's laboratory operations.

This is designed to be a one-year contract.

This contractor will play a dual role: primarily supporting a DDT-led initiative to enable data ingestion from HTA workflows into Signals, and secondarily providing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement support for HTA's existing suite of VBA-driven workbooks. This role reports into the DDT (DSCS Digital Technologies) organization and will work in close, ongoing partnership with the HTA group within VARD. The contractor is expected to split time between dedicated DDT project work (Signals data ingestion) and flexible, as-needed support of HTA's existing VBA workbook ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain VBA code to support a DDT data ingestion workflow that connects HTA workbooks and processes to the Signals platform.
• Collaborate closely with both DDT and HTA teams to understand existing workbook logic, data structures, and laboratory workflows, and translate those requirements into robust, maintainable VBA solutions.
• Provide ongoing support, debugging, and enhancement of HTA's existing Excel/VBA workbooks used to design experiments, generate robotic liquid handler worklists, ingest raw data, and analyze results.
• Interact with and support Excel workbooks and data analysis workflows tied to robotic liquid handler workflows, including generation of worklists containing liquid handling instructions and downstream data handling.
• Document code changes, workflows, and technical decisions to support long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer.
• Troubleshoot issues in existing workbooks.
• Coordinate priorities and timelines across DDT and HTA stakeholders, balancing dedicated project work with ad hoc support requests.
• Work independently with minimal oversight while keeping both DDT and HTA stakeholders informed of progress and blockers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Required Experience:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) coding, including Excel object model, macros, and automation of Excel workbook-based workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to read, understand, and enhance existing codebases written by others.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively between technical (DDT) and scientific/laboratory (HTA) teams.

Desired Experience

• Prior professional experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with additional scripting/programming languages such as Visual Basic Script, Python, R, C++, JavaScript and HTML.
• Familiarity with robotic liquid handling systems, particularly Tecan platforms, or other laboratory automation equipment.
• Experience supporting laboratory informatics tools or E-Notebook platforms such as Revvity Signals.
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with high-throughput experimentation or analytical workflows.
