Job Description

We're building an AI-native culture where technology and talent are unstoppable together — and our internal Go-To-Market applications and Sales CRM team is where that shows up in how we build our own commercial workflows across Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, and Procurement.

As a Staff Engineer (IC4), you'll independently lead the design, development, and delivery of complex, high-impact systems within these internal platforms. You'll take ownership of critical components, set technical direction within your domain, and serve as a technical resource to peers and other engineers. We're looking for someone who combines deep software engineering fundamentals with hands-on, already-fluent expertisein AI-assisted and agentic development — not someone looking to pick it up on the job.

What You'll Do

  • Own backend services end-to-end, including REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven microservices (Kafka)

  • Build and integrate microservices with ServiceNow platform applications, ramping up quickly on platform-specific patterns and constraints as needed

  • Own a complex subsystem — set technical direction, make the architectural calls, and carry the operational consequences of them

  • Pitch in on UI work using a modern component framework

  • Work closely with TPMs and business stakeholders to understand and help shape requirements, communicating technical trade-offs clearly and driving alignment without heavy hand-holding

  • Apply AI coding tools and agentic workflows day-to-day as a core part of how you build and ship — using them accountably, with critical review and verification before anything ships

  • Provide L3 support for internal business-critical systems

  • Mentor other engineers and serve as a technical resource within your domain, raising the bar through code review, scalable system design.

  • Model best practices in software craftsmanship, testing discipline, and debugging methodology

Qualifications

  • ~8+ years of practical software engineering experience, including production systems you've owned end-to-end
  • Strong fundamentals: data structures, system design, REST/GraphQL, relational data modeling, testing

  • Real, hands-on microservices experience, including event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar)

  • Working front-end skills with a modern component framework

  • Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working with TPMs and business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements

  • CI/CD, containers, observability, and L3 incident/support experience for internal production systems

  • Current, hands-on experience with agentic workflows, LLM integration, RAG, Knowledge grapgh, MCP or prompt engineering — you should already be fluent here

  • A record of mentoring engineers and raising quality through code review

  • Nice to have

  • Billing, contracts, quoting, or usage-based commercial systems experience

  • Kafka/event-driven architecture depth, or NoSQL data modeling (e.g., Cosmos DB)

  • ServiceNow Platform certification and/or development experience is a strong added advantage

Nice to have

  • Billing, contracts, quoting, or usage-based commercial systems experience
  • Kafka/event-driven architecture depth, or NoSQL data modeling (e.g., Cosmos DB)
  • ServiceNow Platform experience is a plus
