Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Administrator to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals on our Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting consular applications services globally. 

 

Core Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM ET - 3:30 PM ET (Flexible).

 

Location: This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Area (DMV) to accommodate occasional onsite meetings, training, or customer support activities at the Washington, DC, customer location or the Peraton office in Sterling, VA. The number of days the consultant works on-site in Washington, DC, or Sterling, VA, is subject to change based on government/program requirements (for example, surge support might require the individual to be in the office five days per week).

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, analyze, and manage Oracle Fusion Middleware based projects, including WebLogic, SOA Suite, OSB, BPEL, B2B, BPM Suite, and BAM. Serve as a subject matter expert on all the application infrastructure administration tasks, ensuring the efficient operation and support of Middleware environments.
  • Perform technical and analytical work to support the functional requirements of the various business users and stakeholders using various in-house Department of State and COTS applications.
  • Perform hands-on installation, configuration, integration, upgrades, migrations, patching and automation of Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA/BPM components and applications.
  • Collaborate with other teams to support application deployments, code migration, issue resolution, and performance tuning. Establish and apply best practices to ensure successful implementation of Middleware applications through effective communication, documentation and defect resolution.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting on complex issues requiring rapid resolution related to Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA/BPM infrastructure, deployments and integrations.
  • Manage other Middleware platforms including WebLogic, J2EE, OHS, Apache, Tomcat. 
  • Evaluate and implement new technology initiatives, especially those related to SOA and other Oracle Fusion Middleware Technology.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree and 12 years of experience or a Masters degree and 10 years of experience or an Associates degree and 14 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 16 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in technical and/or Administrator role with a focus on Operations Support.
  • 4 years of experience in architecture, design, administration, implementation, integration, automation and performance tuning for Oracle SOA/BPM Suite environments.
  • 2 years of experience architecting, designing, implementing, developing, and/or administering environments with emphasis Oracle SOA/BPM Suite and one (1) or more of the following technologies:
    • Oracle WebLogic Server
    • Oracle Web Tier (HTTP Server and/or Traffic Director)
    • Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)
    • Oracle Identity & Access Management Suite (OAM, OUD, IdM)
  • Solid understanding of Oracle SOA/BPM Suite deployment, tuning, and configuration, along with expertise in Oracle WebLogic (or other JavaEE AS) architecture and administration.
  • Proficiency in JavaEE, XML, Web Services, Web Servers, and Application Servers, with experience in cross-product integration with Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and administering Oracle Fusion Middleware products in a high-availability environment, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, testing and ongoing support.
  • Experience supporting code deployments, customizations and integration of Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies with 3rd party applications and databases.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools and technologies, including Jenkins, and Git.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an operational environment.
  • Ability to prioritize day-to-day activities and long-term project tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience supporting the Department of State.
  • Experience in Oracle 19c and/or SQL Server (2012/2016) Database Administration.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
