In this exciting role as a Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer I, you will have responsibility for designing, implementing, and testing embedded software/firmware that maximizes the value of our oximetry and anesthesia monitoring products for our customers.
This is an onsite role located at our Lafayette, CO campus.

Primary Responsibilites:
You will design, develop, test,Ā document, andĀ maintainĀ embeddedĀ software and firmwareĀ usingĀ mixed-signal MCUsĀ forĀ vital sign monitoringĀ platformsĀ
You will apply theĀ appropriate standards, processes,Ā procedures,Ā and tools throughout theĀ softwareĀ development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications andĀ wideĀ range of products.Ā
YouĀ mayĀ engage with internal and external stakeholders,Ā includingĀ interfacing withĀ clinicians,Ā customers,Ā and KOLs,Ā toĀ better understandĀ useĀ environments and needs.Ā
You willĀ learn about theĀ technologies used to measure physiological signalsĀ and knowledge of human physiologyĀ to supportĀ product design decisionsĀ andĀ prioritize design tradeoffs.Ā

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelorās Degree in Electrical EngineeringĀ and/or ComputerĀ EngineeringĀ or relatedĀ engineering/science degreeĀ withĀ applicable course workĀ and knowledge.Ā Ā
- You mustĀ be ableĀ to work in a team environment both locally and globally.Ā

- Coursework in medical device development, design control,Ā FDAĀ and MDR regulations
- Class experience in usingĀ AIĀ in code and test developmentĀ
- DigitalĀ circuit design knowledgeĀ
- ExperienceĀ with C/C++ and PythonĀ
- Examples of projects where youĀ demonstratedĀ skills in āsystems thinkingā ā ability toĀ considerĀ problems, implementations, and impactsĀ at a higherĀ systemĀ levelĀ
- Knowledge ofĀ safetyĀ risk management including SFMEAsĀ and cybersecurity risk managementĀ
- Effective communication and presentation skillsĀ
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skillsāÆĀ
- Highly skilled inĀ problem solving andĀ analysisĀ with high attention to detail
- General knowledge of biology and physiology

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
