Responsibilities

We are seeking an Expert-Level Spectral Integration Engineer to lead the integration and deployment of spectral exploitation tools within complex, enterprise-scale mission environments. This role focuses on establishing an integrated processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) environment that enables image scientists to process, analyze, and exploit spectral datasets, including literal and non-literal data.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in systems integration, cloud-based architectures, and the integration of spectral data into specialized exploitation tools. Working closely with systems engineers, image scientists, software developers, and mission stakeholders, the engineer will support the delivery of interoperable, end-to-end mission capabilities while maintaining the integrity of the broader enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and integration of a spectral exploitation environment that enables image scientists to apply advanced tradecraft tools to spectral data processing, analysis, and exploitation.

  • Advise government stakeholders on technical vision, strategy, planning, requirements, and capability development related to spectral exploitation and enterprise integration.

  • Translate mission objectives and customer needs into actionable system requirements, integration approaches, and technical solutions.

  • Plan and execute systems integration activities across complex, interconnected systems and enterprise architectures.

  • Support requirements analysis, traceability, architecture alignment, and workflow assessments to identify opportunities to improve existing processes, automation, and scheduling.

  • Contribute to technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.

  • Integrate spectral data into spectral exploitation tools and ensure compatibility with the broader mission environment.

  • Collaborate with engineering, science, and development teams to resolve integration challenges and ensure interoperability across system interfaces and dependencies.

  • Support the integration and deployment of cloud-based solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

  • Apply systems engineering lifecycle practices to support technical solution development, integration, deployment, and sustainment.

Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA

  • At least 5 years of experience integrating sensor programs into large, complex systems-of-systems or service-oriented architecture environments across cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting NGA programs or projects.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating spectral data into spectral exploitation tools.

  • Experience integrating technical solutions using cloud-based technologies.

  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and its application to complex integration efforts.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG), and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) enterprise environments.

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM discipline.

  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.

  • Experience integrating spectral exploitation tools within SAGE/CAP architectures.

  • Experience integrating advanced tradecraft tools used by NGA or ATS, such as Data Transformation Services and Full Spectrum Tool Kit.

  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and modeling languages.
