Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities, investment management, and wealth management services to clients worldwide. Digital Client Experience & Platforms is building secure, scalable, and intuitive client-facing capabilities that help protect clients, enable digital adoption, and support trusted engagement across web and mobile channels.

We are seeking a Vice President, Product Manager to own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for client platform Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This leader will serve as a builder-operator for a critical identity and security platform, delivering secure-by-design authentication capabilities that protect clients while preserving a seamless digital experience. The role requires strong product judgment, execution discipline, and the ability to align engineering, cybersecurity, fraud, risk, legal, compliance, design, operations, and channel stakeholders around a measurable roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Platform Ownership

  • Own the MFA product vision, multi-year roadmap, and quarterly delivery plans across web, mobile, and shared client platform capabilities.

  • Define reusable authentication capabilities, adoption patterns, and integration standards that can scale across multiple client journeys and channel teams.

  • Translate security, fraud, regulatory, and client experience objectives into clear product outcomes, prioritized features, and measurable success criteria.

  • Develop the target-state roadmap for enrollment, step-up authentication, trusted devices, device binding, recovery, factor management, and channel migration.

Delivery, Execution & Operating Discipline

  • Lead cross-functional delivery with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, fraud, operations, design, and channel product teams from discovery through production launch.

  • Convert product strategy into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, release plans, and launch readiness artifacts.

  • Manage dependencies across identity, session management, device intelligence, fraud decisioning, client servicing, contact center tooling, and digital channels.

  • Drive disciplined product rituals including prioritization, backlog grooming, stakeholder reviews, delivery governance, testing, release readiness, and post-launch validation.

Risk, Controls, Privacy & Governance

  • Partner with Technology, Cybersecurity, Fraud Operations, Chief Data Office/Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure MFA capabilities meet internal control standards and external regulatory expectations.

  • Own product documentation and governance artifacts, including risk assessments, control mappings, audit evidence, exception handling, change approvals, and operational readiness materials.

  • Embed privacy, consent, data minimization, resiliency, and auditability considerations into product design and delivery decisions.

Client Experience, Adoption & Operational Excellence

  • Optimize MFA experiences to reduce friction while maintaining strong protection, including prompt frequency, factor choice, enrollment completion, recovery flows, accessibility, and servicing escalation paths.

  • Partner with UX research, design, analytics, and servicing teams to validate journeys, identify drop-off drivers, and improve client and advisor outcomes.

  • Define production health expectations, including observability, incident readiness, defect prioritization, operational playbooks, and post-launch performance reviews.

  • Coordinate rollout, communications, training, and change management with digital channels, field/service organizations, and support teams.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track product, risk, and operational KPIs including MFA enrollment rate, challenge success rate, authentication latency, factor adoption, step-up frequency, fraud loss reduction, account takeover indicators, recovery completion, contact drivers, and defect trends.

  • Use data, client feedback, incident learnings, and control findings to continuously improve the roadmap and quantify risk reduction, resiliency, and experience gains.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of product management experience, including ownership of platform capabilities used by multiple applications, channels, or teams.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering authentication, identity, security, fraud, risk, or client protection products in a regulated environment; financial services experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of MFA methods and tradeoffs, including push, OTP, authenticator apps, device binding, trusted devices, account recovery, biometric-enabled flows, FIDO2/WebAuthn, and risk-based or adaptive authentication.

  • Proven ability to influence and execute across engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, fraud, risk, compliance, legal, design, analytics, operations, and senior business stakeholders.

  • Experience defining product metrics, analyzing performance data, and using evidence to prioritize roadmap investments and operational improvements.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with comfort presenting roadmap decisions, delivery progress, risks, tradeoffs, and funding needs to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with identity standards and protocols such as OAuth/OIDC and SAML, and familiarity with modern web and mobile authentication patterns.

  • Experience with device intelligence, fraud decisioning, risk scoring, account takeover prevention, or AI-enabled risk signal integration.

  • Experience improving account recovery, identity proofing, client support tooling, and operational workflows for identity-related issues.

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, agile delivery practices, governance forums, and product financials or investment planning.

Core Competencies

  • Platform-first product strategy and roadmap ownership

  • Security-by-design mindset balanced with client experience outcomes

  • Structured execution, delivery governance, and operational discipline

  • Risk, controls, privacy, and compliance fluency

  • Data-driven decision-making, measurement, and continuous improvement

  • Executive communication, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional leadership
