Responsibilities

Peraton requires Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM. 

 

This position is located onsite in Ft. Bragg, NC.

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

 

The Network Engineer will be responsible for the following:

 

  • This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network.
  • Planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.
  • Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
  • The Engineer must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government’s needs.
  • This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.
  • Providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
  • Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
  • Comprehensively reviewing existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
  • Candidate will establish systems engineering with a focus on the end-to-end functionality of complex systems
  • Performing disaster recovery and backup/restore.
  • Supporting efforts for network cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity, and A&A support documentation in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
  • Maintaining LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
  • Maintaining network security infrastructure including but not limited to: Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Firepower, and ISE.
  • Maintaining data center network infrastructure including but not limited to ACI
  • Providing support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, Mobile computing, End Point management, and desktop computing.
  • Providing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or other NSA Capabilities Package.
  • Engineering enterprise data, voice, and video networks.
  • Establishing and operating network test facilities.
  • Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks.
  • Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management.
  • Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers.
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required.
  • Education & Experience Equivalency:  BS + 2 years of experience OR MS + 0 years of experience OR HS with 6 years of experience OR AA with 4 years of experience
  • DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP) required AND CCNA
  • Detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software.
  • Must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required.

      Desired Qualifications:

  • CCNP Collaboration OR CCNP Enterprise OR CCNP Security OR CCNP Service Provider OR CCDP OR CCIoT OR Aruba Certified Mobility Professional OR Juniper Networks Certified Specialist certifications
  • Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 441 - Network Operations Specialist- Intermediate level or higher by 1 Oct 26.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
