Sr. Infrastructure Engineer -Managed File Transfer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for the Infrastructure Engineering & Architecture organization (IEA).  This position within the FTS (File Transmission Services) group will be responsible for file transmission management activities involving internal and external customers for a large Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design, implementation, onboarding, and support of secure managed file transfer solutions for internal applications, external customers, vendors, and business partners
• Architect and maintain enterprise file transfer platforms, including SFTP, Connect:Direct, Axway Secure Transport, Secure Proxy, and related technologies
• Serve as a technical consultant for file transfer architecture, providing guidance on connectivity patterns, authentication methods, encryption standards, and onboarding requirements
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex file transfer, routing, encryption, certificate, and connectivity issues across distributed environments
• Collaborate with Information Security, Network Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Operations, and Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions
• Drive automation, self-service, and provisioning initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the customer experience
• Ensure compliance with enterprise risk, governance, audit, regulatory, and security requirements related to managed file transfer services
• Lead incident response, problem management, root cause analysis, and service restoration activities to ensure high availability and operational stability
• Develop, maintain, and enforce technical standards, operational procedures, documentation, and support runbooks for file transfer services
• Mentor and develop engineering talent while contributing to modernization efforts involving cloud technologies, API integrations, automation platforms, and next-generation file transfer capabilities

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

• 2+ years of experience supporting multiple file transfer protocols - FTPS, SFTP, NDM, HTTPS
• 2+ years with a role requiring customer communication via phone and email

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows server platforms
• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and proxy-related issues
• Knowledge of secure authentication and encryption technologies including SSH, TLS/SSL, certificates, and public key infrastructure (PKI)
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, or similar technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and operational excellence

• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required
