Summary

This position serves as Without Compensation (WOC) Research Statistician within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden. Please note, there is not pay associated with this position.

Duties

Responsible for conceptualizing, designing, initiating, formulating, planning, executing, and disseminating the statistical methods for a wide range of research projects. Provides methodological expertise as the senior statistician to top level subject matter specialists and agency officials responsible for broad research and operational programs. Advises and consults on a variety of problems involving the theory or application of statistical methods. Originates new statistical methods for projects of a broad and comprehensive nature. Plans, directs, and coordinates a variety of specialized and complex statistical analyses. Oversees and participates in major research projects that investigate important and difficult issues in Veteran health and health care delivery and address key gaps in knowledge. Involves complex theoretical and empirical issues and requires innovation and original efforts at the highest level of sophistication. Work Schedule: Full-time (Without Compensation)

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
