Job Description
Job responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct NGS gene expression technologies to support early discovery, pre-clinical and biomarker validation
- Wet-lab support for project-based work including RNA isolation and gene expression profiling from bulk tissue, bulk sorted cell, and single cell populations
- Present experimental results and data interpretation to work being supported
- Provide insight and guidance to cross-functional collaborators regarding experimental design for gene expression-based work
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 7 years’ work experience in industry or academia
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation
- Experience with targeted RT-qPCR and NGS platforms
- Experience with multi-omics NGS platforms, low cell number sorted populations, and/or single-cell RNAseq
- Experience in analysis of mid-density and/or whole transcriptomics gene expression data types
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to contribute effectively in a team-based environment
- Highly organized and able to manage time effectively
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with Immunology
- Experience with RNA/DNA QC platforms such as the Qubit, Fragment Analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer or Tapestation
- Experience with liquid automation for sample RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library prep
- Experience with NGS analysis data visualization software such as Cell Ranger, Partek, OmniBrowser, or BioTuring
- Familiarity with computer software: Illumina BaseSpace, Illumina Dragen, Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis
Position Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A./M.S./PhD in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8 AM- 5 PM, with occasional overtime required. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of South San Francisco, CA are encouraged to apply.
Pay Range: $90,000- $96,000/yr
