Job Description

The FSE I/II performs Calibrations/Qualifications, Preventative Maintenance and Repairs on pipettes and various types of small laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration/qualification and preventative maintenance in the lab on single channel and multi-channel pipettes.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform pipette calibrations and PM’s as necessary.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of various types of small laboratory equipment both in the field and in the lab.
  • Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
  • Provide feedback to Manager regarding any issue impacting service delivery, particularly issues impacting turnaround times.
  • Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
  • Follow good documentation practices (GDP) as applicable to daily activities.
  • Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
  • Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and other internal and external parties.
  • Follow Eurofins work policies and all applicable SOPs.  Ensure that training on both remains current.
  • Maintain client confidentiality, specifically if information about the customer is obtained from sources other than the customer (e.g. complainant, assessors).
  • Act impartially within the management system.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Two- or four-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar) plus 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1 to 3 years (FSE II) experience in a related field, preferably as a Field Service Technician
  • Ability to work in the US without immediate or potential future sponsorship
  • Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments
  • Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Valid drivers license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to travel within customer territory up to 5 days per week Monday-Friday. Overnight travel as needed.

Additional Information

Working schedule will be Full-Time, First Shift, M-F 8am-4pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Jose, CA are encouraged to apply. No relocation assistance will be given. This position is NOT remote.
