Job Description
Eurofins Built Environment Testing CentraL is proactively seeking a Laboratory Analyst to support their Asbestos team. The position does not have a set start date as of yet but is proactively seeking candidates interested in learning more about this oppertunity.Â
Position Summary: The Analyst prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology in compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s and must be knowledgeable of both job-specific routine and complex analyses. The analyst validates and reviews data for accuracy, and uploads laboratory data into the LIMS that ultimately generates required reports to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times and must be knowledgeable of the job-specific laboratory testing equipment, requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Prepare and analyze environmental samplesÂ
- Accurately enters and reports analytical data using the LIMSÂ
- Performs independent data reviews for other analysts’ workÂ
- Performs analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as neededÂ
- Maintains client service and provides technical support as neededÂ
- Assists the Quality Assurance (QA) manager in development, implementation and data collection of QA processes for the different analytical testsÂ
- Performs confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnelÂ
- Performs and completes all analytical testing QA related tasks as neededÂ
- Assists in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditationsÂ
- Maintains and updates all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as necessaryÂ
- Co-ordinates and manages projects according to their rush status and due time for timely deliveryÂ
- Assists co-workers on analytical questions, as necessaryÂ
- Participates in Lean initiatives and projects when called upon
- Follows company policies and proceduresÂ
- Manages and maintains the inventory of re-sale supply items and laboratory consumables and takes necessary steps to re-order supplies as neededÂ
- Manages and disposes analyzed samples as neededÂ
- Trains new mycology or bacteriology or asbestos or other analytical testing Analysts as neededÂ
- Recommends and coordinates sample transfer as necessaryÂ
- Establishes and maintains laboratory stock culture and reference samplesÂ
- Performs root cause analysis and determines and implements corrective actions for errors and issues as necessaryÂ
- Maintains all equipment properly and co-ordinates servicing of all equipment used in the laboratory, as neededÂ
- Routinely communicates available capacity to senior managementÂ
- Supports other departments within the lab (mycology, asbestos, bacteriology, and other) when appropriate and as neededÂ
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a closely related scientific discipline
- Minimum 1-2 years of documented laboratory experience required
- Demonstrated experience in asbestos or mold testing analysis
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Ability and/or Skills:
- Proficiency in environmental testing methodologies and analytical protocols
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Advanced competency in analytical laboratory techniques and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory quality assurance (QA) requirements and standards
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, spreadsheet applications, and laboratory database management
Additional Information
- Position is full-time Monday - Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm).Â
- Pay range: $22-24/hr
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
