Quality Control Laboratory and Concrete Technician Apprentice - Montgomery Locks and Dam | Monaca, PA
Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Technician Apprentice to join our team supporting the $769.9 million Montgomery Locks and Dam project in Monaca, PA.
This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project is a major infrastructure improvement on the Ohio River and includes construction of a new 110-foot by 600-foot primary lock chamber, demolition of existing structures, cofferdam work, and both wet and dry construction operations.
No previous quality control or construction experience is required. This apprenticeship is designed for someone who is interested in building a career in construction quality control and is willing to learn through hands-on field experience, training, and industry certification programs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in the field. Brayman will provide support and training as you work toward applicable quality control testing and inspection certifications.

Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Control Technician Apprentice, you will learn to:
- Support Project Quality Control personnel and project supervision with daily QC activities.
- Perform and document field testing and inspections under the direction of experienced QC personnel.
- Assist with testing and document concrete and its constituent materials (such as aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures).
- Learn testing procedures, documentation requirements, and quality control processes.
- Assist in completing testing and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Use Microsoft Office or similar applications to document and organize QC information.
- Follow established procedures, ask questions, and apply feedback.
- Work with experienced QC personnel to develop skills for advancement within the quality control field.
- Travel to project locations or training facilities as needed for training and certification.

Apprenticeship and Certification Development

Education and Experience
No previous construction or quality control experience is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Construction, engineering, technical, manufacturing, laboratory, field experience, vocational or college coursework, internships, apprenticeships, or other hands-on experience may be helpful but are not required.

Safety Sensitive Position
