Job Description

Are you someone who enjoys technology, problem-solving, and finding ways to make processes more efficient? As an Entry Level Laboratory Systems Specialist, you will support pharmaceutical laboratories by developing and maintaining tools that help automate data collection, organization, and reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain experience at the intersection of science, data, and software within a regulated laboratory environment.

Working alongside laboratory and quality teams, you will assist with creating custom spreadsheets and automated solutions, supporting software validation activities, and ensuring data integrity across laboratory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom spreadsheets and automated tools to support laboratory data processing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and quality teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support the configuration, testing, and implementation of data management solutions.
  • Assist in creating and executing software validation documentation, including URS, FRS, IQ/OQ, and UAT protocols.
  • Review automated spreadsheets and tools to ensure compliance with validation and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot existing applications, implement updates, and support end users as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Learn and apply industry best practices related to laboratory informatics, data integrity, and GxP compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline.
  • Exposure to programming through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Visual Basic, VBA, or another programming language.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel automation or VBA programming.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or laboratory experience involving data analysis or software development.
  • Exposure to software validation, quality systems, or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge of GxP, data integrity, or computerized system validation concepts.
  • Ability to learn new software platforms and technologies quickly.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with additional hours, as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
