Job Description

Eurofins BPT-Columbia is seeking a Bioanalytical Scientist to join our team in Columbia, Missouri. This position is ideal for a scientist with experience in immunology, cell biology, biologics testing, or bioanalytical sciences who is interested in supporting the development and testing of innovative biopharmaceutical products in a regulated laboratory environment.

The Bioanalytical Scientist will perform and support the execution, development, optimization, validation, and transfer of bioanalytical methods used to evaluate biologic drug substances and drug products. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with ELISA, multiplex immunoassays, electrochemiluminescence (ECL) assays, or similar bioassay platforms, along with the ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate scientific findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine bioanalytical testing in accordance with cGMP guidelines, study protocols, methods, and SOPs.
  • Execute, develop, optimize, and validate bioassays including ELISA, multiplex ELISA, and ECL-based methodologies.
  • Analyze and interpret assay data using laboratory software and statistical tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Support assay troubleshooting, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare technical documentation including protocols, reports, validation documents, and laboratory records.
  • Review experimental results and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and electronic data systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Train and mentor junior laboratory staff as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure studies are completed on schedule and meet client expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field with at least 1 year of industry experience; or Master's degree with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with ELISA, multiplex ELISA, MSD, ECL, ligand-binding assays, or other bioanalytical platforms.
  • Experience supporting assay development, qualification, validation, or transfer activities.
  • Background in immunology, cell biology, biologics, monoclonal antibodies, proteins, or related therapeutics.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, FDA, and other regulated laboratory environments.
  • Experience analyzing scientific data and generating technical reports.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience mentoring or training laboratory personnel.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional hours as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Columbia, MO are encouraged to apply.
