Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking a passionate and dedicated In Vitro Disease Modeling and Functional Genomics Scientist. The candidate will work directly on the client site in Cambridge, MA and will collaborate with scientists from multiple therapeutic areas. The candidate will support the client’s dynamic and innovative early discovery research environment and will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. This is a hands-on position. The ideal candidate shall have excellent lab skills, strong documentation skills, ability to analyze and summarize data to draw conclusions, and make recommendations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop stem cell-based in vitro disease platforms.
  • Develop assays for small-molecule and CRISPR/genetic screens using high-content imaging.
  • Perform laboratory experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across therapeutic and functional areas.
  • Maintain electronic lab notebooks and sample inventories.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in related scientific discipline with 1-3 years of wet lab experience; cardiovascular disease experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in cell culture, stem cell differentiation, and in vitro disease model development.
  • Experience with gene manipulation methods, including CRISPR, siRNA, ASOs, lentiviral systems, and AAVs.
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, including RNA extraction, qPCR, ELISA/MSD, and ICC.
  • Experience with FLIPR and Seahorse OCR platforms.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to develop experimental strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable range of Cambridge, MA are encouraged to apply.
