Job Overview

Reporting to the Santaland Management team, the Village Supervisor team is responsible for maintaining the daily schedule and operations for Santa performers and overseeing proper flow of the Village operation This role works closely with Macy’s Santaland management and support staff throughout the attraction to ensure guest flow is not greatly disrupted by shift changes and that all shift changes happen in a discrete manner to maintain the magic of the attraction. 

What You Will Do 

• Oversee the daily Santa appearance schedule (facilitating switches, breaks, and lunch breaks) based on the pre-existing staff and operating schedules. 
• Maintain Santa’s physical well-being and appearance while he is within the attraction in front of guests
• Work with the Santaland Managers to maintain a smooth and constant flow of traffic through Santaland
• Assisting Managers and Macy’s Studios with pre-season training of Santa
• Ensure that all shifts are covered appropriately (facilitating shift changes and absence cover as necessary)
• Assist on select special event and staffing based on needs requested by Santaland Operations Manager
• Maintain order and morale in the Santa dressing room area
• Work closely with Costume Staff and Wig team to assure Santa appearance aligns with the Macy’s guidelines and expectations
• Assist all village staff (Elves, Photographers, Performers) with any issues that are presented throughout the day
• Assist guests with possible re-shoots of Santa photos
• Assist guest with special requests and/or accommodations
• Supervise onsite guest arrivals via reservation system and implementation of virtual queue system; manage guest flow and crowd control in front of attraction. 
• Control guest dispatch in Santa village directing guests to the correct Santa house based on the preferences set in the reservation system. 

Skills You Will Need

Communication Skills:

• Knowledge of a second language helpful
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Reasoning Ability: 

• Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values

Education/Experience:

• Event Operations experience
• Personal Assistant experience
• Administrative experience 
• Scheduling experience

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged standing or walking may be required

Work Hours:

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays
• Working schedule must work in conjunction with other team members
