What are we looking for?

The Lead Product Designer is responsible for working closely with the Head of Design, Product, Engineering and other designers, you will design for frontline employees, managers and administrators. Initial priorities may include Wisetail coverage, with ongoing ownership transitioning to the Senior UX Designer through an agreed handoff. Convergence is the long-term focus of this role.

Shift/Schedule: Monday- Friday; core business hours

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $160,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the design direction for agreed Convergence product areas. Explore alternatives, make clear recommendations and connect customer needs, business priorities and technical constraints to the experience.
• Create polished interfaces and intuitive interactions with strong hierarchy, typography, layout and attention to detail. Make complex learning and administration tools feel coherent and easy to use.
• Use sketches, wireframes and interactive prototypes to explore ideas, explain behavior and test decisions. Carry promising concepts through to detailed designs that engineers can implement.
• Apply strong UX thinking to journeys, navigation and task flows. Resolve permissions, dependencies and relevant loading, empty, error and recovery states, partnering with UX and research colleagues for deeper investigation.
• Build new alongside existing design systems to develop reusable components and interaction patterns. Help establish a consistent, accessible experience across connected products and responsive interfaces.
• Work with Product and research partners to understand customer workflows and test important assumptions. Use usability findings and product evidence to improve designs throughout delivery.
• Partner closely with engineers to work within the existing platform and integration constraints. Document behavior, resolve implementation questions and review the built experience for usability, accessibility and visual quality.
• Lead constructive design reviews and mentor other designers through hands-on feedback. Coordinate with Wisetail, Alchemy and contractor designers to keep ownership, priorities and shared patterns clear.

Minimum Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience leading design for complex digital products, taking work from ambiguous problems through implementation and iteration with substantial ownership of the resulting experience.
• Excellent interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio showing polished, usable interfaces and thoughtful decisions about hierarchy, layout, typography and behavior.
• Strong UX judgment and the ability to independently work through complex user flows, information architecture and navigation. You know when to seek deeper research or specialist input.
• Expert proficiency in Figma and strong prototyping skills. You can move between early exploration, detailed interaction design and clear implementation specifications.
• Experience using and evolving design systems, designing accessible interfaces and maintaining consistency across responsive web or connected product experiences.
• Technical fluency and experience collaborating with engineers on feasibility, data, permissions and integration constraints. You can adapt a design without losing the intent of the experience.
• Strong product judgment, clear communication and the ability to explain tradeoffs, prioritize with partners and mentor colleagues as an individual contributor.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Enterprise software, learning platforms, workforce tools or products used in manufacturing and frontline environments.
• Complex administration, content workflows, reporting, shared devices or customer transitions between established products.
• Mobile design, interaction motion or coded prototyping. Production coding is not required.
