Job Description
Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Saginaw on a full-time basis.
Relocation benefits may be available for this role.
The Role:
As a Launch Lead, you will have Supervisory responsibility for small/medium cross functional group of employees responsible for the implementation and execution of the Launch Deliverables and retool of equipment. This position will require fostering teamwork and communication between different functions and shifts. The work is of a technical nature using independent judgement within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). There is a need to be able to deal with complex problems and lead continuous improvement projects, while scheduling to meet important deadlines and build dates.
What you will do:
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for Ergonomics and Health & Safety
Work closely with the Execution Team to develop the plan for all upgrades and builds
Work closely with cross functional teams to implement GMS
Lead cross functional Launch Team to achieve Launch Deliverables
Implement Operational Readiness and create plan for 100% completion by Start Of Regular Production
Communicate between different shifts/departments/functions
Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to establish run at rate deliverables
Validate Manufacturing and Quality processes during Launch
Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union, and management
Coach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
Participate in the selection of new employees and trains, develops and evaluates salaried and hourly employees, and the development of highly effective teams
Occasional Travel may be required to support launch activities (less than 10%)
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Knowledge of quality control procedures, manufacturing processes and management systems as they relate to production operations
5 years +of leadership experience with Manufacturing Operations / Planning
Working knowledge of Workplace Safety System (WSS)
Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes (CIP)
Willing to work OT and off shifts as needed
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
High level of oral and written communication skills
Experience working in a cross functional team environment
