Job Description
Position Summary
Assist Supervisor with day to day management of the team; train team members as needed; grind
parts to conform to blueprints/drawings
Duties and Responsibilities
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does notÂ
restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties andÂ
responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons
• Independently set up any grinding machine, adjust taper, roundness and surface per set upÂ
instructions
• Update the schedule/production list and distribute work to the team as needed
• Train grinding team on new or updated processes
• Focus on continuous improvement using process improvement tools such as 7S
• Insure that the team follows all safety guidelines
• Operate machine/s while maintaining blueprint specifications
• Perform stability study of gauges used
• Load and edit programs as needed
• Perform initial inspection
• Troubleshoot any issuesÂ
• Assist Grinders team with any grinding issues
• Assist with process improvement tools, such as DOE
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
• Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and instructed
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications
Qualifications and ExperienceÂ
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 5 or more years of experience as a machinist/tool maker/Grinder with manual machiningÂ
experience; CNC knowledge is a plus

Infeed, Cylindrical, and ID
• Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
• Ability to read, communicate, and explain required documents for production process and otherÂ
company communications in English
• Ability to develop and or improve processes on new or existing parts with a completeÂ
understanding of Grinding fundamentals and practicesÂ
• Ability to use all relevant measurement equipmentÂ
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions given in English
• Ability to meet quality and productivity standards
• Ability to read blueprints thoroughly
• Computer skills, intermediate knowledge Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
Physical RequirementsÂ
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:Â
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Able to stand for long periods of time
Work Environment
• Majority of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures areÂ
often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high
• PPE required as determined by company safety standards: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves,Â
safety shoes
Additional Information
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience.
