Job Overview
The Associate, Demand Planner maintains sales forecasts for Macy’s stores and Macys.com replenishment businesses, focusing on improving forecast accuracy to maximize sales, inventory efficiency, and profitability. This role collaborates with Inventory Management, Inventory Support, and Supply Planning teams to optimize system usage and enhance inventory performance.
The Associate, Demand Planner also contributes to the development of new reports and tools by gathering requirements from Inventory Management, Merchants, and Supply Chain partners. This role creates tools and processes to automate and streamline replenishment tasks while conducting ad hoc analysis and data extractions to support team strategies and company initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Maintain accurate forecasts for all actively replenished items
- Optimize forecast models in Blue Yonder by adjusting demand-based system parameters
- Provide strategic guidance at the FOB, department, and individual PID levels
- Develop ad hoc analyses and reports to support replenishment strategies
- Establish reporting guidelines and best practices to improve accuracy and automation
- Assist in creating tools and processes to enhance replenishment efficiency
- Collaborate with Macy’s Technology team to report and resolve system defects
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
- In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned
Skills You Will Need
Forecasting & Demand Planning: Experience with Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) or similar forecasting software to drive accurate demand planning.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Strong analytical skills with experience in SQL programming and business intelligence tools like Tableau.
Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and VBA coding for automation.
Process Optimization: Ability to develop tools and processes that enhance efficiency and streamline replenishment tasks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working across multiple teams, including Inventory Management, Merchandising, and Supply Chain, to align business objectives.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and work with technology teams to resolve system defects.
Communication & Influence: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey insights, influence stakeholders, and drive data-driven decision-making.
Who You Are
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
- 2+ years of related experience
- This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
