About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced business accountability specialist to serve as the Technology Standards Governance & Compliance Execution Lead in support of Technology Service Catalog (TSC) governance, Configuration Management, and enterprise control processes. The position is responsible for overseeing high-volume governance activities, executing critical compliance controls, supporting audit and risk management activities, and ensuring data integrity across the software product lifecycle.
The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Technology partners to drive governance execution and maintain control effectiveness. Responsibilities include coordinating Sunrise/Sunset processes, supporting TBCR workflows, managing Product Ownership lifecycle governance activities, performing SQL-based data validation and analysis, and developing reporting and automation solutions that improve compliance monitoring and operational efficiency.
This role requires a unique combination of governance expertise, configuration management knowledge, risk and control execution experience, data analytics capabilities, and technical proficiency with SQL and automation technologies. The position demands strong business analysis skills, the ability to interpret and apply governance requirements, and experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve compliance issues and drive process improvements.
In this role, you will:
- Lead governance, risk, and control initiatives that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and technology lifecycle management.
- Serve as the primary owner for TSC Governance and Configuration Management processes, including reviews, approvals, validations, and exception management.
- Execute and monitor Sunrise/Sunset and TBCR governance activities to ensure accurate product records, lifecycle compliance, and adherence to enterprise standards.
- Assess, design, and enhance control frameworks, governance processes, and monitoring capabilities to identify and mitigate current and emerging risks.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and reporting activities to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and informed decision-making.
- Develop and implement reporting, metrics, automation, and process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and technology leaders to resolve governance issues and drive strategic initiatives.
- Produce audit-ready evidence, support regulatory examinations, and respond to inquiries from auditors, regulators, and risk partners.
- Influence stakeholders and facilitate decision-making in complex environments by identifying control gaps, escalating risks, and driving remediation activities.
- Act as a trusted governance advisor while leading cross-functional initiatives, mentoring team members, and promoting accountability for policy adherence, data quality, and control execution.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
- 5+ years of experience supporting governance, compliance, risk, audit, or control execution processes within a large enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable governance and reporting platforms is preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Configuration Management practices, software product lifecycle management, and Technology Service Catalog (TSC) governance.
- Experience supporting regulatory, audit, and risk management activities, including evidence collection, issue remediation, and control effectiveness reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and manage high-volume governance processes while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance standards.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience performing data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and reporting across multiple systems.
- Experience developing process automation and operational efficiencies using SQL, scripting, reporting tools, or workflow automation platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify data quality issues, process gaps, and compliance risks.
- Experience partnering with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to drive governance outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex governance requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing demands, manage escalations, and make sound risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of software asset management, application inventory management, CMDB governance, or technology risk processes is highly desirable.
