Summary

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, Position Description Number T5867000 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. This is a Temporary Position Not to Exceed 1 Year. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

Duties

As a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, GS-1801-12, you will serve as the focal point for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy and wing-level long-range strategic plans. Provides direction and oversight of internal and external inspections, audits, evaluations, reviews, exercises, and analyses to determine unit effectiveness and efficiency. Ensures operational, contingency, and mobilization plans adhere to policy and direct the effective use of wing resources.

If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). ADDITIONAL CONDINTIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position requires a secret security clearance; the incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a secret Clearance. Work may require access to higher classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance within on year of appointment. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment. Note: The caveat is that the States, Territories, and the District of Columbia cannot drug test until a drugfree workplace policy has been established and approved by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. IAW AF guidance, incumbent must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) within 180 days of appointment; must complete Inspector General Training Course Complaints Resolution (IGTC-Q) within 180 days of appointment; and IG appointees for nuclear-capable units will complete the USAF Nuclear Inspector Course within 180 days of assignment. Successful completion of other courses will be accomplished IAW applicable DoD, AF, and National Guard Bureau regulations. Recommend completion of the NGB/IG Advanced Course within one year of appointment.
