Physical Therapist

Summary

The primary functions of this position will be to provide direct care in all physical therapy clinics at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System including Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, Eglin and Panama City. At the full performance level, PTs are responsible for independently providing assessment and treatment interventions to inpatients and outpatients received through healthcare provider referrals and patient self-referrals.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Independently evaluate and treat patients through Direct Access and provider referrals. Perform examinations, interpret findings, establish PT diagnoses, and develop individualized plans of care. Determine prognosis, set functional goals, and select appropriate therapeutic interventions and equipment. Provide clinical oversight to Physical Therapy Assistants and PT/ PTA students. Review and interpret medical records and provider orders; collaborate with interdisciplinary team members. Deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive patient care across adult and senior populations. Maintain compliance with privacy, safety, environmental, and computer security requirements. Perform regular physical tasks including lifting, positioning patients, and adjusting mobility equipment. Requirements
