Summary

Please note: There is no pay associated with this position. This position serves as Without Compensation (WOC) Research Health Science Specialist within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The WOC - Research Health Science Specialist will provide scientific support and coordination on several VA projects as directed. They will handle project questions and problem independently in coordination with the Principle Investigator.

Duties

The initial application review cut-off for this job announcement is 50 applications. The first 50 applications received will be considered first. Major Duties: Will conduct post-processing/analyses of MRI, DTI, fMRI, and MEG data using various software (AFNI, FSL, FreeSurfer, MatLab, MRILAB, SEGLAB, Fast-Vestal). Provide summarized files of neuroimaging data analyses for statistical analyses. Prepare graphs/figures of neuroimaging data for scientific presentations, manuscripts, and grants. Maintain/trouble shoot Linux operating systems; provide training/consultative services to project personnel. Work Schedule: Full-time (Without Compensation)

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Subject to background/security investigation. Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
