Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Duties

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major Duties and Responsibilities: The LPN/LVN is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice. They functions under supervision in the delivery of basic nursing care to CLC residents. The incumbent performs routine, well-defined nursing procedures, assists with activities of daily living, and observes and reports resident status to the RN or charge nurse. Assignments involve residents with stable, predictable conditions, and independent judgment is limited to the immediate task at hand. Work is closely reviewed for accuracy and adherence to established procedures. Supervisory Controls: The incumbent is responsible to the Nurse Manager or assigned supervisor and is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS). Provides the customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Age, Development, and Lifestyle Needs of Patients Requirements: Provides care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patients being served, and which is appropriate to the cognitive; emotional, and chronological maturation of the patient. Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age specific needs and to provide care needed as described in the services' policies and procedures. Takes into consideration age-related differences of the various Veteran populations with this institution. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge of the changes associated with aging and possess the ability to provide care/support based upon age related factors. Ensures staff receives training in these categories. Sensitivity to the special needs of all patients in respect to age, developmental requirements, and lifestyle related factors must be consistently achieved. Computer Security Requirements: Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA guidelines. Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc., as set out in the computer access agreement that the incumbent signs. Other Significant Information: This position includes a level of physicality normally associated with duties performed by nurses such as direct patient care, and potentially long periods of walking, standing, sitting, moderate lifting, repeated bending, or kneeling.
