Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties
The PM&R Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (NP) will support Facility Pain POC/Clinical Leads in the coordination of pain management, opioid safety, and the prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP)-related initiatives, and implementation of VHA and the Joint Commission standards. The NP will work in close collaboration with the VISN PMOP Coordinator, Facility Pain POC/Clinical Lead, Facility Primary Care (PACT) Pain Champion, Academic Detailing pharmacists, Facility Pain Management Team (PMT) members and other facility stakeholders to ensure implementation of pain management initiatives in compliance with national policy, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements. The NP will act to promote health and protect against disease within the constraints of the Nurse Practitioner Act, The Standards of Practice for the Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner, and the approved clinical privileges of the provider under the guidance of the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or their designee. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Leading and organizing delivery of care to assure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including access to care and discharge planning Use advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes Functioning as an expert in clinical practice and chronic pain care Systematically evaluating current practice, and formulating outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within an area of expertise Guiding, developing, and supporting staff from a leadership perspective Provide pain management and OUD care as aligned with and inclusive of health promotion, screening and the Whole Health Model of care and disease prevention to patients, families, and caregivers. Requirements
